Larry W. Pippard, B.A. (Hon), LL.B.

Mr. Pippard graduated from the UBC Law School in 1988 and was called to the British Columbia bar in 1989.  He is a primarily a barrister with extensive courtroom experience in both the Provincial and the Supreme Courts of British Columbia.


 He has been in private practice for 30 years presently practicing in family law, 

criminal law and civil litigation, as well as a wills and estates practice.


Disbursements and taxes are in addition to the hourly and flat rates quoted.

Family Law

Mr. Pippard has extensive litigation experience in both the Provincial Court of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia, dealing with divorce, division of matrimonial property, child and spousal support, and allocation of child custody/parenting time and parental responsibilities.


Family litigation $275/hour.


Mr. Pippard will not accept Family Law Act Legal Aid matters, however, he will selectively accept child apprehension matters on Legal Aid in order to level the playing field for low income parents facing experienced MCFD counsel.


Prenuptial/Separation Agreements $1,500.


Divorces:  $500 fee, $575 with children, plus disbursements and taxes (usually $1,000 to $1,200 all in depending on service costs, our secretary will serve your spouse for free if they attend at our office).


Criminal Law

Mr. Pippard has extensive experience in  dealing with the large variety of charges commonly tried in the Provincial Court of British Columbia, as well as experience appearing before the Supreme Court of British Columbia.


We  charge $1,500 for the first half day of trial, $750 per half day thereafter, fix dates included.


Bail, disclosure and other interim applications at $275 per hour.


Mr. Pippard strongly urges anyone who may be or has been charged with spousal assault to speak with him first to learn about the wide variety of non-trial options available.


We do not handle sexual assault cases.

Wills, Estates, Powers of Attorney and Notariazations

Simple wills: $300 - $350


Power of Attorney:  $200


Notarization:  $40 including taxes


Estates (Probate and Letters of Administration) :  $175 per hour.

Firearms Law

Mr. Pippard has been a hunter and fisherman all his adult life and has therefore naturally taken to helping people in the firearms and outdoors community deal with firearms prohibition applications, criminal prosecutions involving the possession and use of firearms, and related matters.
